AI Overview

An AI Overview is an AI-generated summary box that appears at the top of Google search results, synthesizing information from multiple web sources to answer a user's query directly. Powered by Google's Gemini model, AI Overviews pull and attribute content from authoritative websites, often providing answers without requiring users to click through to individual pages.

Example

When you search "how does solar panel efficiency work," Google displays a multi-paragraph AI-generated summary at the top of the results page explaining the concept with inline citations. Each citation links to the source website Google drew information from, and traditional blue links appear below.
