ChatGPT outfit change prompts are edit instructions attached to a photo you upload: the garment, fabric, and fit you want, plus a keep list that locks your face, hands, hairline, and pose. Without a selection, ChatGPT Images 2.6 redraws the whole frame, so the keep list does the work. Here are 35 prompts for dresses, suits, casual layers, hairstyles, accessories, and try-ons from a reference photo.
What Makes ChatGPT Outfit Change Prompts Work
An outfit edit is the one most likely to come back with a different person wearing the clothes.
Lock the body before you dress it. Without the Select tool, ChatGPT Images 2.6 regenerates the entire frame from your photo plus the instruction, so open every prompt with the keep list: face shape, features, skin tone, hair and hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions. The model will narrow a waist or lengthen a neck to make the clothes sit well unless you forbid it.
Name the fabric, the fit, and how the light falls on it. "A suit" gives the model nothing to render. "A navy wool suit, slim but not tight, soft shoulders, lit by the window light from the left so the lapel catches a highlight and the sleeve folds hold shadow" reads as photographed. Fabric decides texture, fit decides silhouette, and light decides whether it belongs in the frame.
Watch the hands, sleeves, and collars. These three are where outfit edits drift: the model finishes a sleeve by redrawing the hand at the end of it, and closes a collar by redrawing the jaw above it. Every prompt below names them, and every check starts there.
Select when the garment edge is clean, describe when it is not. The Select tool highlights one shirt and leaves the rest alone, right for a color change or a collar swap. Highlights are not always precise and edits can extend past the selection, so the keep list stays even when you select. For a full outfit change, describe it and let the keep list protect the body.
Forbid what you did not ask for. "No logos, no new jewelry, no body reshaping, no skin smoothing, no change to my hairline" is negative prompting applied to wardrobe. The do-not lines stop the model from styling everything else.
Every prompt here follows the shape set in the hub, 40 ChatGPT photo editing prompts: the change, the region, the keep list, and the light. For a prompt built around a garment you own, describe it to the image prompt generator.

How to change an outfit in a photo with ChatGPT:
Pick a photo where the clothes show. Full outfit or waist up, even light, hands visible, hair as you want it to stay.
Upload it in a new chat. Earlier images bleed into later edits.
Paste the keep list first. Face shape, features, skin tone, hair and hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions.
Describe the garment as fabric, fit, color, and light, and say where the sleeves, collar, and hem sit.
Select the region for small swaps. Open the image, choose Select, highlight the garment, and keep the instruction on it.
Check hands, sleeve ends, collar, and hairline at 100%. If any drifted, rerun on the original with that part named.
Warning
Edit your own photos, and use another person's photo as an outfit reference only with their permission. Do not list clothes for sale with an AI image of yourself wearing something you have never put on: buyers read a try-on as a real photo, and marketplaces treat it as misleading. Social platforms allow outfit edits on your own pictures and may label them as AI; none allow them where a real photo is required. Delete the chat when you are done.
Quick Swaps (1–6)
The fastest ChatGPT outfit change prompts touch one garment and nothing else. Select the item when its edge is clean, say what changes, and spend the rest of the prompt on what stays. Fabric texture and folds should survive every swap, or the result looks painted over.
1. Change the Color of One Garment
Change only my [SHIRT / DRESS] from [CURRENT COLOR] to [NEW COLOR].
Keep the fabric texture, seams, buttons, folds, and the existing
highlights and shadows so the new color looks lit by the same light
from the [LEFT]. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, proportions, and every
other garment unchanged. No color bleeding onto my neck or hands, no
logo.
What you'll get: The same garment in a new color, folds intact.
Variation: Give a hex code, such as "match #2F4F4F."
2. Change the Pattern
Change the pattern on my [SHIRT] from [SOLID / CURRENT PATTERN] to
[THIN WHITE AND NAVY STRIPES / A SMALL GINGHAM CHECK]. The pattern
must follow the fabric's folds and seams, scale to the garment, and
keep the existing shadows. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, proportions, and all
other clothing unchanged. No pattern on skin or background, no logo.
What you'll get: Stripes that bend with the fabric.
Variation: Ask for "the same pattern at half the scale."
3. T-Shirt to Collared Shirt
Replace my [COLOR] t-shirt with a [WHITE / LIGHT BLUE] cotton
collared shirt, top button open, sleeves at the same length. The
collar sits on my neck without changing my jawline. Light from the
[RIGHT] so the collar edge catches a highlight and the placket holds
shadow. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline,
expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged. No tie, no
logo.
What you'll get: A collared shirt on your actual neck and shoulders.
Variation: Add "sleeves rolled twice to mid-forearm."
4. Add or Remove a Jacket
Add a [TAILORED CHARCOAL WOOL BLAZER / BROWN SUEDE JACKET] over my
existing [TOP], worn open so the top stays visible. Match the light
from the [LEFT] with realistic folds, seams, and shadow under the
collar. Sleeve ends sit at my wrists without redrawing my hands.
Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression,
pose, hands, body, proportions, and the top underneath unchanged. No
logo.
What you'll get: A jacket that hangs as if it was always there.
Variation: To remove instead: "Remove my [JACKET] and show the [COLOR] top underneath, rebuilt only from its visible parts."
5. Roll or Lengthen the Sleeves
Change only the sleeves of my [SHIRT]: [ROLL them to just below the
elbow with two neat folds / LENGTHEN them to my wrists with a button
cuff]. Fabric, color, and pattern stay the same, and the folds hold
the light from the [RIGHT]. Keep my forearms, wrists, hands, and
fingers unchanged, no added or missing fingers. Keep my face shape,
features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, body, and
proportions unchanged. No watch added.
What you'll get: Sleeves at the new length, your own hands at the end.
Variation: Select both sleeves first to keep the edit local.
6. Swap the Shoes
Replace my [CURRENT SHOES] with [WHITE LEATHER SNEAKERS / BLACK
LEATHER LOAFERS]. Keep the exact foot position, angle, and size, and
keep the trouser hem where it falls. Add contact shadows on the
ground matching the light from the [LEFT]. Keep my face shape,
features, skin tone, hair, expression, pose, hands, body,
proportions, and all other clothing unchanged. No logo.
What you'll get: New shoes at the right size with real ground shadows.
Variation: Select the shoes and the first inch of trouser hem first.
Formal and Work (7–12)
Formal wear is where fit matters most, and where the model most wants to trim the body under it. These ChatGPT outfit change prompts name the cut, fabric, and shoulder line, and every one says the body underneath stays as photographed.
7. Tailored Suit
Dress me in a [NAVY / CHARCOAL] wool suit: single-breasted, notch
lapels, soft natural shoulders, slim but not tight, with a white
cotton shirt and a [COLOR] tie. The jacket follows my actual
shoulders and torso. Light from the [LEFT] catches the lapel and
shadows the sleeve folds. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No pocket square, no logo.
What you'll get: A suit cut to your real shoulders, lit by your real light.
Variation: Drop the tie and ask for "the top button open."
8. Blazer Over the Existing Top
Add a [BLACK / CAMEL] blazer over the [TOP] I am already wearing,
worn open so the top stays visible. Matte wool blend with a slight
drape, sleeves ending at my wrist bone. Match the light from the
[RIGHT] with a highlight along the lapel and shadow under the
collar. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline,
expression, pose, hands, body, proportions, and the top underneath
unchanged. No change to my neckline, no logo.
What you'll get: A blazer layered over what you were actually wearing.
Variation: Ask for "sleeves pushed up once to show the shirt cuff."
9. Business Casual
Change my outfit to business casual: a [LIGHT BLUE / WHITE] cotton
button-down shirt, sleeves rolled once, tucked into [NAVY / STONE]
chinos with a plain leather belt. Relaxed fit, true to my body as it
is. Light from the [LEFT] with soft folds at the elbow and a faint
shadow under the collar. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No tie, no logo.
What you'll get: An office-ready outfit that still looks like your photo.
Variation: Swap the shirt for "a fine-gauge merino crewneck in [COLOR]."
10. Interview Outfit
Dress me for a job interview: a plain [NAVY / BLACK] blazer, a
[WHITE / PALE BLUE] shirt or blouse with a simple collar, and
matching trousers or a knee-length skirt. Understated, fitted to my
body as photographed. Even, soft front light with gentle fabric
shadows on the blazer. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No jewelry, no logo. Aspect ratio 4:5.
What you'll get: An interview look with your face and posture untouched.
Variation: Replace the blazer with "a plain [COLOR] cardigan."
11. Evening Dress
Change my outfit to a floor-length [EMERALD / BLACK] evening dress
in matte satin: modest boat neckline, three-quarter sleeves, a
bodice that follows my body as it is, and a straight skirt. The
satin carries one long soft highlight from the light on the [LEFT]
and deep folds in the skirt. Keep my face shape, features, skin
tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No added jewelry, no change to my neck or shoulders.
What you'll get: A formal dress rendered as fabric, proportions kept.
Variation: Ask for "a tea-length crepe dress with a wide skirt" for daytime.
12. Black-Tie
Dress me in black-tie: a black wool dinner jacket with [PEAK /
SHAWL] satin lapels, a white pleated dress shirt, a black bow tie,
and black trousers with a satin stripe. The jacket sits on my
natural shoulders. Light from the [RIGHT] catches the satin while
the wool stays matte. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, facial hair as it is, expression, pose, hands, body, and
proportions unchanged. No cummerbund, no pocket square, no logo.
What you'll get: Eveningwear where satin and wool read as different fabrics.
Variation: Ask for "a midnight blue dinner jacket" for warm light.
Casual and Street (13–18)
Casual outfits fail differently: the model adds a brand mark, a hat, or a bag you did not ask for, and loose clothes invite it to redraw the body. These prompts name the layers inside out, give each a fabric, and forbid the extras.
13. Streetwear Layers
Change my outfit to layered streetwear: a plain [WHITE / GRAY]
heavyweight cotton tee, an open [BLACK / OLIVE] cotton overshirt
with chest pockets, straight-leg [DARK / LIGHT] denim, and plain
canvas sneakers. The layers hang on my body as it is, in overcast
light from above. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged.
No logos, no hat, no bag, no chain.
What you'll get: Three visible layers with none of the branding the model adds.
Variation: Swap the overshirt for "a boxy [COLOR] twill work jacket."
14. Athleisure
Change my outfit to athleisure: a fitted plain [BLACK / HEATHER
GRAY] technical tee, tapered [BLACK / NAVY] joggers, and [WHITE /
GRAY] running shoes with no visible branding. Matte knit fabrics.
The fit follows my body exactly as photographed: no change to muscle
size, waist, or shoulders. Light from the [LEFT]. Keep my face
shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands,
body, and proportions unchanged. No logos.
What you'll get: Sportswear on your actual build, no implied gym transformation.
Variation: Add "a lightweight [COLOR] zip jacket, unzipped."
15. Denim on Denim
Change my outfit to denim on denim: a [MID-WASH / LIGHT-WASH] denim
trucker jacket, buttoned once, over a plain white cotton tee, with
[DARK-WASH] straight jeans. The two washes must be clearly different
shades. Visible twill texture, topstitching, and natural creases at
the elbows lit from the [RIGHT]. Keep my face shape, features, skin
tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No logos, no rips.
What you'll get: Two denim washes that read as separate garments.
Variation: Swap the jacket for "a raw indigo denim overshirt."
16. Oversized Hoodie
Change my top to an oversized [CREAM / FOREST] cotton fleece hoodie,
hood down, drop shoulders, cuffs at my wrist bone. The hoodie is
loose but my body underneath keeps its exact size and posture: do
not widen or slim my frame to fit it. Soft folds at the elbows and
chest, lit from the [LEFT]. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, and proportions unchanged.
No logos, no graphic print.
What you'll get: A loose hoodie with your real frame still readable inside it.
Variation: Ask for "hood up, face fully visible, hair as it is."
17. Summer Linen
Change my outfit to summer linen: a relaxed [WHITE / SAND] linen
shirt, top two buttons open, sleeves rolled to mid-forearm, over
[STONE / NAVY] linen trousers. Visible slub texture and natural
creases that catch the warm light from the [RIGHT], no sheen. Keep
my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression,
pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged. No sunglasses, no hat,
no logo.
What you'll get: Linen that looks like linen, on the body you brought.
Variation: Change the trousers to "a linen midi skirt in the same color."
18. Winter Coat and Scarf
Dress me for cold weather: a long [CAMEL / CHARCOAL] wool overcoat,
worn closed, over a [CREAM / GRAY] ribbed knit sweater, with a
chunky [COLOR] wool scarf wrapped once and draped forward. The coat
follows my shoulders and torso as they are, in soft overcast light
that keeps the wool matte. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone,
hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. The scarf does not cover my chin. No gloves, no hat.
What you'll get: A winter layer that keeps your face and hands fully visible.
Variation: Add "plain [COLOR] leather gloves" if your hands show.
Occasion and Traditional Wear (19–23)
Occasion clothes carry detail, and detail is where the model improvises. Name the garment's construction, how it drapes, and where it sits, then forbid the extras. For traditional clothing, name the garment in the placeholder and describe its construction yourself; a described drape lands closer than a name the model may read loosely.
19. Wedding Guest
Dress me as a wedding guest in [a DUSTY BLUE midi dress in matte
crepe with a modest V-neck, short flutter sleeves, and an A-line
skirt / a LIGHT GRAY wool suit with a white shirt and a SAGE tie].
The fabric drapes over my body as photographed. Light from the
[LEFT], soft folds, no shine. Keep my face shape, features, skin
tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions
unchanged. No corsage, no added jewelry, no logo.
What you'll get: A guest outfit that fits the way you actually stand.
Variation: Add "a light [COLOR] wrap over my shoulders."
20. Festive Outfit
Change my outfit to a festive look: a [DEEP RED / FOREST GREEN]
[VELVET BLAZER / KNIT DRESS] with a subtle sheen, over [BLACK
TROUSERS / A DARK SKIRT]. The fabric catches a soft highlight from
the warm light on the [RIGHT] and holds deep folds. Fit follows my
body as photographed. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged.
No sequins, no printed motifs, no logo.
What you'll get: A rich fabric for a celebration without a costume look.
Variation: Ask for "a thin gold-colored belt" as the one accent.
21. Traditional Garment by Construction and Drape
Dress me in a [GARMENT NAME], constructed as [a long draped length
of fabric pleated at the waist and carried over the left shoulder /
a knee-length tunic with a standing collar over straight trousers /
a fitted jacket with a crossed front and wide sash], in [COLOR]
[SILK / BROCADE] with [a woven border / small embroidery] in [ACCENT
COLOR]. The fabric drapes over my body as photographed, lit from the
[LEFT]. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline,
expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged. No added
jewelry, no headwear.
What you'll get: A garment built from your description, worn by you as shot.
Variation: Upload a photo of the real garment and add "match its color, border, and drape."
22. Graduation Gown
Dress me in a graduation gown: a [BLACK / NAVY] matte gown with an
open front and wide sleeves, over a [WHITE SHIRT / PLAIN DRESS],
with a [COLOR] stole and a mortarboard with a [COLOR] tassel. The
cap sits on my hair without changing my hairline or face. Even front
daylight with soft folds in the gown. Keep my face shape, features,
skin tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and
proportions unchanged. No text or emblem on the gown, no diploma.
What you'll get: Gown and cap in place with your hairline still yours.
Variation: Ask for "no cap, stole only" on a tight crop.
23. Themed Party Outfit
Dress me for a [1920s / 1970s / MASQUERADE] themed party, described
by construction: [a drop-waist beaded dress to the knee with a long
string of pearls / a wide-collared printed shirt with flared
trousers / a dark velvet jacket with a plain half mask held in my
hand]. Fitted to my body as photographed, lit from the [RIGHT]. Keep
my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression,
pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged. Nothing covers my
face. No named characters, no logo.
What you'll get: A themed outfit built from era cues, face fully visible.
Variation: Add "a period hairstyle that keeps my hairline and hair color."
Hairstyle and Accessories (24–30)
Hair is the edit most likely to change the face around it: a new style often comes back with a shifted hairline, forehead, or jaw. Every ChatGPT hairstyle change prompt here pins the hairline, ears, and face before it names the cut. Accessories are small, so select them and keep the prompt on the object and its shadow.
24. Hairstyle Change That Keeps the Hairline
Change my hairstyle to [A SHOULDER-LENGTH BLUNT CUT / A SHORT
TEXTURED CROP / LONG LOOSE WAVES]. Keep my natural hairline, exact
hair color, and hair texture, and keep my forehead, ears, jaw, and
face shape unchanged. The hair falls with weight and catches the
light from the [LEFT]. Keep my features, skin tone, expression,
pose, hands, body, proportions, and clothing unchanged. No change to
my eyebrows.
What you'll get: A new cut on your own hairline, face left alone.
Variation: Follow up with "the same style, shorter by [NUMBER] inches."
25. Hair Color
Change only my hair color from [CURRENT] to [WARM CHESTNUT / ASH
BLONDE / COPPER]. Keep the cut, length, part, texture, and every
strand where it is. The new color keeps the existing highlights and
shadows from the light on the [RIGHT] so it looks lit, not painted.
Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hairline, eyebrows,
expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions unchanged. No color
on my skin, collar, or background.
What you'll get: A color change that keeps every strand where it was.
Variation: Select the hair first so the face stays outside the edit.
26. Glasses On or Off
Add plain [BLACK / TORTOISE] [ROUND / RECTANGULAR] glasses, fitted
to my face at the correct size and perspective, with a faint
reflection in the lenses and a soft shadow where the frames touch my
skin. Keep my eye color, eye shape, gaze, brows, and face shape
unchanged. Match the light from the [LEFT]. Keep my features, skin
tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, proportions,
and clothing unchanged. No brand mark on the frames.
What you'll get: Glasses that sit on your nose at the right scale.
Variation: To remove: "Remove my glasses and rebuild only the area behind them from my own eyes and brows; keep eye shape, color, and gaze."
27. Hat
Add a [WOOL BEANIE / WIDE-BRIM FELT HAT] in [COLOR], sized to my
head at a natural angle, with a soft contact shadow where the brim
sits. Keep my hairline where it shows, my ears, and my face
unchanged. Match the light from the [RIGHT] for the brim shadow.
Keep my features, skin tone, hair color and texture, expression,
pose, hands, body, proportions, and clothing unchanged. No logo or
text on the hat.
What you'll get: A hat with real brim shadow and no redrawn face under it.
Variation: Ask for "the hat pushed back so my full hairline shows."
28. Earrings or Necklace
Add [SMALL GOLD HOOP EARRINGS / A THIN SILVER CHAIN WITH A SMALL
PENDANT] at the correct size and position, with a contact shadow and
a small highlight from the light on the [LEFT]. The metal reads as
[GOLD / SILVER] without glow. Keep my ears, neck, collarbones, and
neckline unchanged; the necklace sits over the existing collar. Keep
my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression,
pose, hands, body, proportions, and clothing unchanged. No other
jewelry.
What you'll get: One piece of jewelry at the right scale, no neckline redraw.
Variation: Select the earlobes or neck base first to keep the edit local.
29. Watch
Add a [PLAIN STEEL / LEATHER-STRAP] watch with a [WHITE / BLACK]
dial to my [LEFT] wrist, at the correct size and angle, with a soft
contact shadow under the case and a small highlight on the glass
from the light on the [RIGHT]. Keep my hand, fingers, wrist, and
sleeve cuff unchanged, no added or missing fingers. Keep my face
shape, features, skin tone, hair, expression, pose, body,
proportions, and clothing unchanged. No brand name on the dial, no
bracelet.
What you'll get: A watch on your own wrist, hand untouched.
Variation: Select the wrist so the hand stays outside the edit.
30. Bag
Add a [STRUCTURED LEATHER TOTE / SMALL CROSSBODY BAG] in [COLOR],
[carried in my left hand / worn across my body with the strap over
my right shoulder], scaled to my body and resting against my
clothing with a contact shadow. Keep my hand grip, fingers, arm
position, and pose unchanged. Match the light from the [LEFT]. Keep
my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression,
body, proportions, and clothing unchanged. No logo, no hardware
text.
What you'll get: A bag that hangs with weight from your own hand or shoulder.
Variation: Add "the strap leaves a soft crease in my coat."
Try-On From a Reference (31–35)
These are the ChatGPT try on clothes prompts people search for: wear a garment from a product photo, match a friend's outfit, or hold one outfit across several poses. Two photos in one message give ChatGPT Images 2.6 the garment and the body; a saved reference image holds you consistent across chats, and a saved selfie for virtual try-on lives under Settings, Personalization, Reference photos. For two people in one frame, see ChatGPT couple photo prompts.
31. Wear the Outfit From a Product Photo
Two photos uploaded. The first is me; the second is a product photo
of a [GARMENT]. Dress me in the exact garment from the second photo:
same color, fabric, pattern, cut, collar, sleeve length, and hem,
scaled to my body as it is in the first photo, with folds that
follow my pose and the light from the [LEFT]. Keep my face shape,
features, skin tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body,
proportions, and background exactly as in the first photo. Do not
copy the product photo's model or background. No logo.
What you'll get: The listed garment on you, in your photo, under your light.
Variation: Add "show the garment's actual fit on my frame; do not resize it."
32. Match a Friend's Outfit From Their Photo
Two photos uploaded, both shared with permission. The first is me;
the second is my friend wearing an outfit. Dress me in the same
outfit: same garments, colors, fabrics, and layering, fitted to my
body as it is in the first photo rather than theirs. Match the light
from the [RIGHT] in my photo. Keep my face shape, features, skin
tone, hair, hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, proportions,
and background exactly as in the first photo. Bring nothing of my
friend's face, body, or background into the result.
What you'll get: Your friend's outfit on your frame, nothing of them carried over.
Variation: Ask for "the same outfit in [COLOR]" to coordinate rather than match.
33. One Outfit Across Four Poses With a Saved Reference
Using my saved reference image @[NAME], generate four 4:5 images of
me in the same outfit: a [CREAM] ribbed knit sweater, [DARK]
straight trousers, and plain [WHITE] sneakers. Poses: standing
facing camera, three-quarter turn, seated on a plain stool, and
walking toward camera. Same plain [GRAY] background, same soft light
from the upper left, same head size, same garment colors and fit in
every frame. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, body, and proportions exactly as in the reference. No
logos, no accessories, no text.
What you'll get: Four poses of the same outfit on the same you.
Variation: Save the reference first: upload your photo, ask ChatGPT to save it as a reference and name it, then type @ and the name here.
34. Fit and Drape Realism Check
Two images uploaded: the first is my original photo, the second is
your outfit edit. Correct the second so the garment sits on my body
as in the first: shoulder seams at my shoulder points, cuffs at my
wrist bones, hem at the stated length, folds where my pose would
create them, and fabric weight consistent with [WOOL / LINEN /
SATIN]. Restore my face shape, features, skin tone, hair, hairline,
expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions exactly as in the
first photo wherever they shifted. Change nothing else.
What you'll get: The same edit, garment anchored to your real shoulders and wrists.
Variation: Add "list the corrections you made" to check them yourself.
35. Four-Look Lookbook Grid
From my uploaded photo, create a 2 by 2 lookbook grid at 1:1, each
cell showing me in the same pose and framing in one of four outfits:
[1. navy wool suit], [2. cream linen shirt and stone trousers], [3.
black knit dress], [4. gray hoodie and dark jeans]. Same plain
[WHITE] background, light from the upper left, head size, and eye
line in every cell. Keep my face shape, features, skin tone, hair,
hairline, expression, pose, hands, body, and proportions identical
across all four. Thin white gutters, no text, no logos. 2K.
What you'll get: Four outfits side by side on one unchanged body.
Variation: On the free plan, ask for one cell per message and reuse the exact wording.
Tips for Better Results With ChatGPT Outfit Change Prompts
Check the hands first. Sleeves end at hands, and the model finishes a sleeve by redrawing what comes out of it. Count fingers, compare the grip, and check the wrist before you look at the clothes.
Describe fabric as behavior, not a name. "Linen" is a word; "visible slub texture, soft creases at the elbow, no sheen" is an instruction. Satin carries one long highlight, denim shows twill and topstitching.
Keep the fit honest. Say "fitted to my body as photographed" and "do not slim, widen, or straighten my frame" in every outfit prompt. A garment fitted to an invented body is not a photo of you.
Change one garment per follow-up. If the suit is right and the shoes are wrong, ask for the shoes only. ChatGPT Images 2.6 is about 50% faster than the previous version, so a narrow rerun is cheap; rewriting the whole outfit invites drift in the parts that were already right.
Know when to use the other tool. For a strict one-item swap where nothing else may move, Gemini's Nano Banana is stronger, and the best Nano Banana prompts collection covers it. ChatGPT is stronger when the outfit change comes with a relight, a new scene, or text.
Tip
Before you accept an outfit edit, compare the original and the result at 100% at five places in order: hands, sleeve ends, collar line, hairline, and jaw. If any moved, rerun on the original with that part named in the keep list. Only then judge the clothes.
